The Beginners Course is your first step in learning Kendo, a modern Japanese martial art which descended from the swordsmanship (kenjutsu) of the samurai. In this 8 weeks structured course you will develop basic skills and begin to practice with instructors and other students in armour.
Must be age 15 or over.
What is included?
- 8 weeks of training on Wednesdays and Fridays (starting from your first session).
- A shinai (bamboo sword) and bag worth £55, given on week-4.
- 3 months membership of the British Kendo Association.
The course fee is £130 for adults and £90 for concessions. The first session is an introductory lesson costing £20, payable in advance. The balance of £110 for adults and £70 for concessions is payable before the second week of training. Aberdeen Kendo Club is non profit and as such does not make a profit on the beginners course.
